Day 101 – Lake and Wondering

I hope I one day have a job where I don’t dread Sunday nights for the anticipation of the week. Wanting to get out of bed would be nice, too. All I ever think about is how much awesomeness I’m missing because I’m doing what I HAVE to do.

Why do I HAVE to do this? Why do I HAVE to follow the standard that was created by men hundreds of years ago? Shouldn’t we evolve instead of blindly playing this game?

Solipsism and Restless Sleep

A bed so comfortable and safe, yet it can’t protect from the dreams that attack during the night from time to time. Haunted by the same person each time, nothing can stop the memories in the weakness of sleep.

Am I weak for being so tired? Time and energy are scarce. I tried. I did my best. Honestly. The sun continues to rise each morning following restless attempts at sleep. The sun never lets us down. The light always finds its way back to find us. Though, seeing the light depends greatly on what a person chooses to see. Some fail to feel it even submerged in its radiance. Others can picture it even through months of pure darkness.

The sun never leaves as long as you want her to stay. And that helps with the tiredness a little bit. The theory of Solipsism removes all stress. If everything is only in my head, why worry about the rest? Pretending the dark isn’t there won’t save you from it. Reading about nazis before bed brings dreams of dread. Change your beliefs to match the lifestyle you’d rather live.

I wish there were a monster under my bed or hiding in the dark of my closet. A real beast would be much simpler to silence than the horrors created in my head. Quantico is a lifetime away. I’m only 1 years from 28. We only get one shot and that dream is going to have to wait until my next life. I messed up and will have to find another way to save the world.

This is Why You Are The Sun

Metaphors for human life exist all throughout nature – if we take the time to observe and compare. Seeing the parallels between your life and the lives of creatures and natural phenomenons all throughout the universe will help you feel connected to something greater than the modern, manipulated society. This post will discuss the similarities between a single human life and the Sun above.

To be clear, this will NOT be claiming that the world revolves around humans. Human beings are important, but not the center of the solar system. However there are some other, more humbling parallels among ourselves and that bright star we circle each year.

Here is how the Sun is like your human life:

1 – Throughout life, you will rise and fall repeatedly.

We all have ups and downs. Often when things seem as if they cannot stray any further downhill – further, in fact, they can go. On the other hand, after persevering through the difficult times you will see your life starting to brighten once again. Life grows arduous, and life shifts upward. It’s normal and natural for the universe to knock you down and pick you back up over and over throughout the years you live. Don’t let the dark times ruin the good, and don’t let the good times leave you in despair during the dark days.

Rise and fall – it’s what we’re built to do – just like the Sun. Sunrise/Sunset. Soulrise/Soulset.

2 – You need rest.

Rest is often seen as weakness or laziness in our modern world. Aren’t you supposed to be cleaning your home or doing laundry on the weekend instead of staying in bed all day? …Not necessarily.

We are only human and if the mighty bright Sun needs to go down and have a few hours hours out of the spotlight, then so do we. Don’t make the mistake of neglecting to give yourself rest and time to relax in peace.

3 – You can radiate your light to the those around you.

Within your soul resides wisdom and strength that others can benefit from. Be like the Sun and radiate your uniqueness to the world. Don’t hide it in fear or lack of confidence. Laughter, positive messages, and kindness are contagious. They each have the ability to scatter their rays of light across this darkened world, but only if each human is brave enough to let out his/her inner light.

Learn to be like the sun and throw those beams of light out each day, consistently. Don’t ask for permission, just go for it.

4 – You are built – mentally and physically – to keep moving.

Growing settled in one place, or sticking in one toxic situation is something we’re all guilty of. It’s often scary to keep moving in life, but it’s also something we need to do. Life is too short to dwell. Sitting idly is never good for anyone’s health. Always strive to explore – whether it’s new places on earth or new areas within yourself.

The Sun above is in constant motion, as we humans should be, too. The second we give up on further movement of our minds and bodies is the second we give up on life. Just as if the Sun stopped moving, destruction comes when we sit in place for too long.

Do you see that your human life parallels the actions of the Sun? How amazing is it that our little lives mimic the behavior of the life giving star we see everyday?

4 Reasons to Be Like the Sun

What is life without the sun? Life would not exist if earth weren’t perfectly placed in the sun’s glorious rays. The sun is life, and also a role model. Be like the sun.

1 – The Sun is Bright:

Be bright. Be a shining ball of light in a universe of endless black. Shine and stand out. Give light to those around. Spread the warmth in a cold society.

2 – The Sun is Powerful.

Be powerful because you can be. This is something we often forget. We are tiny specks in the universe, but so is the mighty sun we travel around each year. We can be as powerful as the sun.

3 – The Sun is Consistent.

The sun has been the same throughout human history. Slight fluctuations come with eons, but mostly our sun has been the only consistent factor in our lives. Be consistent. Be reliable. Keep your word. Be true to others and yourself.

4 – The Sun Rises and the Sun Rests.

We are human. Even the powerful sun must rise each morning and rest each night. So we must also rise for each day and rest once the day is done.

We rise and we fall, constantly. It’s normal. We must rest and when the time comes, we must rise up.

Learn from the sun. Be like the sun. Thanks for reading this post. You are as bright and powerful as the sun. Go outside today and look up at that masterpiece and know that you are just as magnificent.

Dear Sun…Stay

When you are gone for days at a time my spirits fall. I find no motivation for life itself other than eating and sleeping. It’s in these long stretches of sunless sky that I remember how much I love to see and feel your power.

You give me life, Sun. You remind me of what life is about. You take me back to those careless summer days when I was a child free of burden and experience. I want to run in your rays eternally and let the heat sink deep into my cold soul.

Sun, you heal me. You take the icy darkness out of my blood and replace it with warmth and serenity. You loosen up my rigid muscles and move me to explore the Earth with you watching over from above.

Sun, you lead me to the water where my mind and body feel at peace. Your rays shimmer and glisten on top of the lakes and seas, creating crystals of radiant light that enrich my spirit. The liquid conducts the heat into my skin, penetrating the jagged edges of the stone walls that guard my heart. The warm water floods my bloodstream and washes away the pain of the past.

Don’t you see, Sun? I need you to come and stay. Sleep at night while Moon protects the Earth, but don’t leave me for days at a time. This world cannot live without you, Sun. We need you to stick around. I will send endless love up to you until the end of my days here. I will meditate on your strength and power. I will soak in every second of your glorious reign.

My soul was born from you, Sun, and in you it is rejuvenated. I am your child. Thank you for allowing us to orbit within your holy territory.

Please, Sun, come back to me soon. Don’t let the gaseous clouds hide you any longer.

Sincerely,

A Child of the Sun
